As a boat sits in the water small electrical currents are generated that come from different metals on your boat and from neighboring boats and docks. This galvanic action is called electrolysis. This will cause pitting and blisters to the boat’s underwater metal parts. A boat lift can eliminate this type of corrosion. Boat lifts can also protect your boat from storm waves. It is better to keep your boat up on a boat lift, than to leave it to bang and rub against a dock.
